According to a recent survey of the 2020/2021 harvest released by the National Supply Company (Conab), grain production in the country is expected to be 254 million tons. The export figures for corn, soybeans and soybean meal are expected to reach around 124,97 million tons. Given this demand that will pass through Brazilian ports, it is essential that buyers and shippers pay attention to the quality of the products. For this reason, Genesis Group services are so important, as the company guarantees product certification at the time of shipment.

According to Fernando Souza, Agronomist and commercial manager at Genesis Group, the inspector's role is to be the 'eyes of the customer' at the point of shipment, avoiding any disagreement in relation to what was signed in the contract between traders and buyers. “Our job is to guarantee safety and quality for the end customer, with certifications that follow all the protocols required by sector legislation”, he points out.

Thorough inspection of the ship

The inspection work begins well before the ship arrives, as the company must be up to date with all the accreditations required by the inspection bodies. Upon receiving the appointment, the ship begins to be monitored and its status is communicated daily. At docking, an official inspection is carried out to check the cleaning and maintenance conditions of the holds and, during loading, samples are taken to classify the product.

At the end of the operation, a sample is submitted to laboratory analysis and weight and quality certificates are subsequently issued. “We have to be aware of all factors that could contaminate the cargo, such as if the ship previously transported fertilizers or other products that could cause damage to the cargo”, reinforces Souza.

Trusted

All commodities intended for export need to be certified and this has been one of the missions that the Genesis Group has been dedicated to since 2004. One of the group's differentiators, which last year was responsible for shipping more than 5 million tons of soybeans, corn and soybean meal, is your investment in technology.

“All agents in the process (Genesis team and customers) receive information in the palm of their hand during the shipment period, enabling clear communication and speedy deliveries”, according to the Genesis Group manager, and this is only possible thanks to system that the company developed.

Currently, the Genesis team is prepared to work in the main Brazilian ports, in addition to also working with controllership, analysis of solid and liquid products in transport via containers. In this modality we work from the inspection of empty containers until the moment of stuffing.
