Pioneer, Corteva Agriscience's seed brand, has announced Rafael Seleme (pictured) as its new "leader" for Brazil and Paraguay. With 25 years of experience in the sector, 22 of which dedicated to Pioneer, Seleme arrives with the mission of reinforcing the brand's leadership in corn seeds, consolidated since 2005, according to consultancy Kynetec, and expanding its leadership in the sorghum market.
Seleme's connection with agribusiness began long before his professional career. Born in Palotina (PR), he grew up surrounded by his parents' and grandparents' dedication to the countryside. Descendants of the region's first farmers, his family was a pioneer in the founding of the city, which awakened in him a love for agriculture.
“I grew up watching my parents and grandparents in the fields, taking care of the crops, and this made me follow the same path as them. That is why, in the late 1990s, I chose to become an Agricultural Engineer and, from then on, I never looked back. I have held several positions and today I am proud to lead the brand that is considered the most technical in the Brazilian market and that for more than five decades has helped producers with products and solutions that have revolutionized the way of farming”, highlights Rafael Seleme, Pioneer's "leader" for Brazil and Paraguay.
Rafael Seleme graduated as an Agricultural Engineer from the Federal Technological University of Paraná (UTFPR), in Pato Branco (PR). He has a specialization in Biotechnology from the Universidade Paranaense (Unipar) and an MBA in Marketing from the Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV).
His career at Pioneer began in 2002 as Regional Technical Coordinator, where he gained experience in the area of Agronomy. He later took on roles as Marketing Manager, Sales Manager and, more recently, as Regional Sales "Leader".
“It is an honor to lead this brand that has such a solid history and is so valued by farmers. I am committed to using my experience and dedication to further contribute to the development of solutions that meet the needs of the field,” adds Seleme.
