Pioneer, a Corteva Agriscience seed brand, celebrates 50 years in Brazil this month, always alongside rural producers and committed to building the future of agriculture. Over these five decades, Pioneer has sought to pioneer and continually invest in research and innovation to offer an increasingly complete portfolio, with solutions that facilitate farmers' daily lives and increase crop productivity and profitability.
“Since 1972, Pioneer has placed the Brazilian producer at the center of its activities and, therefore, has committed to transferring knowledge, providing all technical support, establishing and maintaining a partnership relationship, always with quality deliveries and offering high technology. It is an immense joy and we are very proud to celebrate this historic milestone, counting on a team that keeps the sparkle in its eyes, always willing to improve, to go further, to surpass records and reach the maximum productive potential in each harvest”, he states. Ecli Ávila, Pioneer Marketing Leader for Brazil and Paraguay.
The brand continues to be the leader for the 16th consecutive year in the summer and off-season corn seed market in Brazil, according to research carried out by the companies Kleffmann and Spark. Among the 10 best-selling hybrids in the country, four are part of the Pioneer portfolio. In 2021, the brand also launched the Optimum AQUAmax technology, after more than 10 years of research in Brazil and 40 years in the world, which provides maximum productivity even in adverse conditions, such as water stress.
In the soybean market, Pioneer offers cultivars with superior quality, high defensiveness and stability, as well as recently launching TSI Soja Completa, a pioneering industrial seed treatment with the aim of facilitating the farmer's work, delivering a seed that is more complete and totally ready for planting. Sorghum cultivation is also strategic for Pioneer, which has a portfolio with high production potential and agronomic characteristics that fit the needs of Brazilian farmers.
Global leader in the silage market, the brand offers in Brazil inoculants with cutting-edge technology that enhance the fermentation process, reducing dry matter losses, prolonging shelf life and guaranteeing the nutritional quality of the silage and animal performance. Pioneer also has a robust pipeline with innovative solutions to continue helping farmers in the corn, soybean and sorghum markets in the coming years.
In addition to pioneering numerous technologies for farming, the brand has innovated in the creation of many initiatives over these 50 years, such as important events, live harvests and the weekly content program Agro em Foco, on YouTube. “In our trajectory we have opened paths, taken risks to innovate, contribute to productivity, bring the best to the sector and be side by side with the producer. We will continue with the same enthusiasm and dedication for the next 50 years”, adds Ecli.
