Peanut and soy industry should start operations next year, in Bataguassu (MS)

With the arrival of the new investment, Mato Grosso do Sul will have its first peanut and soy processing industry

Last week, Cooperativa Casul presented to the Government of the State of Mato Grosso do Sul, Bataguassu City Council and City Council, the start of work on the future facilities of its peanut and soybean processing industrial complex. The works began sixty days ago, and the opening date is scheduled for January 2024. 

The investment reaches R$ 117,52 million, and the industry, focused on receiving, drying and processing peanuts and soybeans, should enter into full operation by 2028. With the implementation of the complex in the Bataguassu municipality, the generation of at least 200 direct job openings on site. 

“Bataguassu has favorable logistics and, in addition to the negotiations to transfer the area, we began setting up the peanut processing industry. We have more than 6.000 hectares cultivated with peanuts in the municipality and more than 15.000 throughout the State, this amount only from producers linked to our Cooperative”, said the president of the Cooperative, Júlio Carlos Arruda.
