PR 2025/26 Harvest: Soybean planting begins in regions of the State
Bulletin highlights uneven sowing pace due to lack of rain and heterogeneity in wheat yields
Paragominas, a municipality responsible for 25,1% of Pará's soybean exports, has received two new Campo Limpo System (SCL) units. One is its own plant, and the other is a partner that joins the initiative's network. The System is a global benchmark in reverse logistics for empty crop protection packaging and has already disposed of over 800 tons of packaging and post-consumer waste in an environmentally sound manner throughout Brazil.
At the centers, the packaging delivered by farmers undergoes inspection and classification (washed and unwashed), separation by material type (plastic, metal, cardboard), compaction, and is issued a return receipt. This document proves that the farmer has fulfilled their legal responsibility. The National Institute for Processing Empty Packaging (InpEV), the system's managing entity, then organizes the final disposal for recycling or incineration at an appropriate location, ensuring process safety and closing the reverse logistics cycle.
In 2024, Pará correctly disposed of 386 tons of empty packaging through the Campo Limpo System, a result of the participation of farmers and the distribution network in various regions of the state. Each center has a minimum area of 160 m² and operates only with specific environmental licensing, in accordance with Resolution 465 of the National Environmental Council (CONAMA).
For farmers in Paragominas and neighboring municipalities, the new facilities mean greater proximity, reduced travel, and more efficient packaging disposal. "Having two receiving locations is important for farmers and also for the exchange of information and knowledge," emphasized Tâmara de Sousa Reis, administrative manager of the Pará Agricultural Trade Association (Acap).
According to her, the units also provide a planning benefit: producers can organize their production routine with the security of having reliable points for returning packaging.
