RS 2025/26 Crop: Rains delay soybean harvest
High humidity reduces grain quality and increases losses in areas of the state.
PTx is bringing OutRun to Brazil, a retrofit solution focused on the autonomy of agricultural machinery. The system allows for driverless operation in the cab, under human supervision, with a focus on agronomic precision and profitability. The technology integrates with the PTx Trimble ecosystem and works on fleets already in use in the field. The product is currently undergoing validation in Brazil.
The presentation follows presentations at Agritechnica in Germany and Commodity Classic 2026 in the United States. The proposal targets operational bottlenecks in agriculture, such as execution outside of the planned schedule and inefficient use of resources.
According to the company, OutRun increases flexibility in the use of labor and speeds up operations. An autonomous tractor can support the grain trailer during harvesting and increase work capacity by up to 60%. The equipment operates 24 hours a day and follows the defined route without deviations.
During harvest, the system synchronizes the tractor and combine harvester. The tractor follows the machine and positions the trailer to receive the grain, reducing the risk of losses and collisions. The operating logic acts as a "mirror" of the combine harvester and maintains continuous alignment.
OutRun integrates with existing farm machinery. Producers don't need to purchase a new fleet. The solution adds intelligence to the machinery and enhances the technological level of the installed equipment.
Assisted automation reduces overlapping passes and unnecessary fuel consumption. The result includes better use of resources and increased operational efficiency.
Technology is also changing team allocation. Operators are leaving repetitive tasks and taking on more complex management roles.
Another point involves the operational window. In situations where rain is forecast, the system maintains its work pace and preserves technical accuracy. The producer can harvest grains or plant crops at the appropriate time.
