With six years on the market, Ourofino Agrociência shows why it is considered one of the most modern producers of agricultural pesticides in the world. This Thursday (30), the company announces the expansion of its factory with the construction of two new storage warehouses, which involved an investment of R$15 million.
The project adds to the plant located in the chemical belt of Uberaba (MG) and is prepared to receive flammable products in approximately 10 thousand pallet positions.
There are 6 thousand square meters of storage area, which aims to centralize stocks to optimize factory operations, increase the level of service and productivity and offer more efficiency in meeting demands.
The Ourofino Agrociência factory has a total area of 324 thousand m2, with 54 thousand m2 are built and already planned for the extension of activities. With modern equipment, the project was designed within “World Class Manufacturing” standards. The plant is made up of two independent factories, one for the production of herbicides and the other for fungicides, insecticides, adhesive spreaders and mineral oil, which avoids risks of cross contamination.
The production process is highly automated, focused on workplace safety, process quality, employee health and care for the environment. Production capacity is 120 million liters per year.
So much care, studies and responsibility for Brazilian agriculture bring Ourofino Agrociência important certifications in manufacturing practices (ISO 9001), environmental management (ISO 14001) and occupational health and safety management (OHSAS 18001). In 2016, the company also received a certification that attests to the technical qualifications of the laboratory team to carry out analyses, ISO 17025.
“The expansion and new storage process will enable Ourofino Agrociência to consolidate its sustainable growth and strengthen competitiveness through lower and more efficient operating costs. In addition to benefiting people who live in the area with the generation of direct and indirect jobs", says Andrea Mujali, executive manager of Industrial Operations at the company.
Constant investment
Between 2015 and 2016, approximately R$43 million were invested in the factory to increase operations and production capacity. One of the areas that received investment was the Formulation Unit for Concentrated Suspension, which expanded capacity from 40 thousand liters/day to 100 thousand liters/day with the aim of meeting internal demand and increasing the production capacity of the company and third parties. .
Next year, the Dispersible Granules Plant for Herbicides will be inaugurated, which obtained R$ 12 million in investments for the formulation of new products in the registration phase and outsourcing of services. The new concept of herbicide production provides gains in the formulation process, reduces operational exposure when handling the product and aims to avoid environmental pollution.
Power generation
Another investment by Ourofino Agrociência was the increase in energy generation capacity. Using R$2 million, the new generators have the capacity to produce 2.000 KW, ensuring power at peak times and factory operation during supply shortages.
“Financial investments and expansions are reflections of the exponential growth of Agroscience. Today, we are already a reference in the agricultural pesticides market and we will continue investing to grow further and offer the best solution for customers and partners", comments Jardel Massari, vice-president of Ourofino Agrociência.
