John Deere showcases the S4 combine harvester and 1025E sprayer at Expodireto.
Machines focus on operations in uneven terrain and properties with less maneuvering space.
Seed Saving allows for individual electrical control of planting rows. The technology increases precision in seed distribution and eliminates waste during operation. It is one of Orion's highlights at Expodireto Cootrijal 2026.
The system electrifies the seed distributor, replacing mechanical transmissions with electronically controlled electric motors. The solution also allows for real-time adjustments and integration with precision agriculture features.
Among the main benefits, Seed Saving delivers seed savings. Row-by-row cutting automatically shuts off rows in already planted areas and prevents overlapping. According to the information presented, the technology can generate up to 7% seed savings with this feature. With variable rate application, savings can reach 15%.
Technology also contributes to increased productivity. Automatic curve compensation maintains the correct seed population during planting. In this scenario, the system can increase productivity by up to 14%.
In operation, electrification eliminates mechanical components subject to wear. This change reduces maintenance and planter downtime.
The package includes line-by-line cutting, variable rate control, curve compensation, and ISOBUS communication. Integration with monitors compatible with this standard allows for direct control and monitoring from the cab.
Another key point is adaptability. The system caters to different planting systems and was developed for all brands and models of planters, without requiring the replacement of the seed metering device. The design enables rapid machine modernization, converting mechanical systems into high-precision electrical systems.
