ICL acquires majority of Lavie Bio activities
Lavie Bio’s existing agreements with its current partners will not be transferred to ICL
Orion promises to shake up the 30th edition of Agrishow – the largest agricultural fair in Latin America, which will take place from April 28 to May 2 in Ribeirão Preto (SP) – with a package of technological innovations that aim to promote increased productivity, sustainability and profitability for producers. Highlights include the launch of the new FlowOne smart valve, the Seed Saving and Liquid Saving solutions, the high-performance T-Rex covering equipment and the new HD1500 bioinput applicator.
“Our focus is to deliver a package of sustainable technological solutions that increase operational and biological efficiency, eliminate waste and facilitate operations in the field,” says Rodrigo Alandia, Marketing and New Business Director at Grupo Orion. “Agrishow is the ideal showcase for us to present to producers everything we have developed to reach a new level of productivity.”
Among the main new features is FlowOne, a unique system for controlling and regulating individual nozzle-by-nozzle application. With smart valves, pressure sensors and flowmeters that measure temperature and flow in real time, FlowOne allows extremely precise control of the application. The data is transmitted via Wi-Fi to the tractor monitor and stored on the Cygni platform, a brand of the Orion Group, to optimize management.
In addition, the system can be operated remotely using the FlowOne App, which allows each valve to be monitored and activated individually, facilitating external verification operations with just one operator. Another advantage is the technology that recirculates the liquid in the equipment circuit, which improves response time and prevents the accumulation of residues.
“We are talking about a new paradigm in application. The producer now has access to real-time data, nozzle by nozzle, as well as unprecedented control,” highlights Vitor Pereira, Director of Technology and Innovation at Orion. “The integration with the FlowOne App represents a new era of connectivity in the field,” he adds.
FlowOne will be available in limited quantities in 2025 and will have a full commercial launch in 2026.
For those looking to convert mechanical planters into electric ones, Seed Saving is the ideal solution. With a 24-volt electric motor coupled directly to the existing metering device, the system allows for row-by-row shutdown, variable rate and curve compensation, all via Isobus communication – a standardized protocol that enables communication between tractors.
“The big advantage is that there is no need to replace the meter, which drastically reduces the cost of the update. This democratizes access to technology and generates an average saving of 10% in the cost of seeds”, explains Vitor Pereira.
The technology will be available for the 2025/2026 second harvest.
Liquid Saving features nozzle-to-nozzle cutting for the application of bio-inputs, available as an option in Orion's Target and Hunter lines. The system prevents overlapping of the application, generating savings of 10% to 15%. The valve used is the same as FlowOne, but Liquid Saving only closes and opens the application.
“With Liquid Saving, the producer gains greater control and savings, completing an integrated strategy of rational use of inputs”, reinforces Pereira.
Like FlowOne, Liquid Saving will have an initial batch in 2025 and a full launch in 2026.
Now available on the market, the T-Rex is a revolutionary high-speed sugarcane mulcher that combines robustness, precision and economy. With a robust, pantograph chassis, integrating in-furrow application, mulching, compaction and operating speed of 12 to 15 km/h, the T-Rex is an indispensable tool in the conventional sugarcane planting system. The in-furrow application system on board this equipment is from the already renowned Hunter line, which has a thermal tank, a membrane pump with a hydraulic motor controlled by a PWM valve, an ISOBUS control system connected to the tractor monitor, TeeJet nozzles and nozzle holders, delivering 99% efficiency in the application of products used in the mulching operation of the plants, which drastically reduces waste and increases the efficiency of pesticides.
The results are impressive: 300% more daily operational capacity, 40% more plants emerged simultaneously, compared to conventional cover models.
“This equipment represents a leap in efficiency and savings for the sugarcane sector. A single T-Rex equipment eliminates up to three conventional cover crops, with much better agronomic results,” says Alexandre Santiago, vice president of Grupo Orion.
Rounding out the list of new products, the HD1500 is a highly durable, precise and flexible bioinput applicator. It contains a double layer — external polyethylene and internal polyurethane — which keeps microorganisms alive and viable for longer.
The Double Shot version has two tanks and two independent circuits for the simultaneous application of biological products and chemical products, without any contact between them. It also has a third tank – Clean Up System – for washing the application circuits.
“The HD1500 is the result of extensive research and development aimed at meeting the needs of farmers in the localized control of nematodes, or even in the application of insecticides, fungicides and microelements, which are incompatible with biologicals. We thought of every detail to ensure practicality, efficiency and high performance”, explains Ricardo Rodrigues da Cunha, CEO and Director of Research and Development at Grupo Orion.
Orion will be present at Agrishow with a modern and comfortable 300 square meter stand located between streets A and 8, to welcome customers and visitors. “Our mission is to anticipate trends, affirming our position as a leader in the application of liquid products into the soil, delivering highly technological and sustainable tools”, concludes Alandia.
