Desenrola Rural seeks to regularize the debts of family farmers
The Program will focus on beneficiaries of the National Agrarian Reform Program (PNRA) and family farmers with an annual gross income of up to R$50.
Orion has entered into a new strategic partnership with Koppert Biological Systems, which promises to bring significant innovations to sustainable crop management in Europe. The aim is to boost the application of biologicals directly in the seed furrow.
In-furrow application is a highly effective technique in which bioinputs are placed directly into the furrow during planting. This application method offers notable advantages, such as targeted protection against soil pests and diseases, improved nutrient uptake, and increased plant development efficiency.
Over the past two years, the partnership between Orion and Koppert has led to extensive field trials in countries such as France, the Netherlands and Italy. These experiments, carried out in collaboration with local producers, involved the use of beneficial nematodes such as Capirel and the biofungicide Trianum, both innovative products from Koppert.
Felipe Capobianco, technical market development leader at Koppert, highlights the success of the initiative by highlighting positive results from the use of products applied directly in the furrow. “We are making life easier for farmers by integrating our biological solutions with Orion’s advanced equipment,” he says.
The collaboration between the two companies has not only demonstrated the effectiveness of biological products, but has also consolidated a method that increases crop protection and improves plant health, reinforcing both companies’ commitment to sustainable agriculture.
Sergio Barbosa, Orion’s International Operations Manager, celebrates the progress made on the continent. “We have adapted our equipment to the specificities of European machinery and actively seek feedback from producers. Our direct contact with farmers has been essential to the trust and success of this initiative,” he emphasizes.
The partnership has already resulted in significant advances, such as the provision of Orion equipment for the application of biological agents in the furrow, a practice that had previously been little explored on the European continent.
“We are enabling innovation in European agriculture. The results so far have been very positive and we are confident that we will continue to expand, establishing Orion as a global leader in in-furrow biological application technologies,” said Rodrigo Alandia, Marketing and New Business Director at Orion.
For Ricardo Rodrigues da Cunha, founder and CEO of Grupo Orion, the partnership with Koppert represents an important milestone in the mission to promote sustainable agriculture on a global scale. “We have been conducting extensive tests in Europe. We are confident that our partnership with Koppert will deliver significant benefits to producers across Europe, encouraging more sustainable and safe agriculture and bringing successful results to their operations,” he says.
Headquartered in Brazil, Orion continues to expand its international operations, with plants under construction in Portugal and Paraguay, as well as new projects in the United States. In Brazil, the company is expanding its production capacity with a modern factory in Quintana (SP).
