Orange juice exports decline in the 2025/26 harvest.

Lower demand reduces volume and revenue in the first half of the harvest, according to industry data.

The volume of orange juice exported (FCOJ equivalent to 66 Brix) in the first six months of the 2025/26 crop year (July to December) was 394.764 tons, representing an 8,1% reduction compared to the 429.407 tons shipped in the same period of the 2024/25 crop year. Revenue totaled US$1.440.818.000, a 23,2% decrease compared to the US$1.876.064.000 recorded between July and December 2024.

The United States consolidated its position as the main destination for Brazilian exports during this period, accounting for 55,2% of the total volume exported. Between July and December 2025, the country imported 217.970 tons of FCOJ equivalent, a 34,9% increase compared to the 161.641 tons shipped during the same period of the previous harvest. In terms of revenue, shipments reached US$ 746.216.000, a 10,4% increase compared to the US$ 675.806.000 recorded between July and December 2024.

Europe maintained its second position among destinations for Brazilian exports, with a 39,3% share. The volume exported to the bloc totaled 155.287 tons, a 31,9% decrease compared to the 228.022 tons registered in the first half of the previous harvest. In revenue, shipments totaled US$ 601.583.000, a 41,9% decrease compared to the US$ 1.036.266.000 of the same period of the 2024/25 harvest. “The high prices of the last harvest had a very negative effect on demand, and patience is needed for consumers to return to the category, as product supply and prices in European retail adjust,” assesses Ibiapaba Netto, executive director of CitrusBR. 

For China, orange juice exports between July and December of the 2025/26 crop year totaled 10.426 tons, a volume 45,8% lower than the 19.223 tons recorded in the same period of the previous crop year. In revenue, shipments reached US$ 43.025.000, a decrease of 17,7% compared to the US$ 52.255.000 recorded between July and December 2024.

Japan imported 5.218 tons in the first half of the 2025/26 crop year, a volume 54,4% lower than the 11.441 tons recorded in the same period of the previous crop year. Revenue totaled US$25.526.000, a 59,5% decrease compared to the US$62.964.000 recorded between July and December 2024.

The remaining markets combined totaled 5.864 tons exported and US$ 24.420.000 in revenue, complementing the total values ​​for the period. Compared to the first half of the previous harvest, the decreases were 32,3% in volume and 47,7% in value.
