The Price Guarantee Program for Family Farming (PGPAF) will pay bonuses for 10 products this August. The products and corresponding states are banana (TO), passion fruit (ES), potato (RS), yam/yam (AM, MG and RJ) and onion (SP).
The items and states covered were published this Monday (9) in the Official Gazette of the Union. The calculations are carried out by the National Supply Company (Conab). The benefit comes into effect from August 10th, valid until September 9th.
One of the reasons for including onions in this month's list is the widespread supply and good national production, which influenced the drop in bulb prices. Bananas (AL) and mangoes (BA) are already on the way out. Mango prices have recovered the market price and are favoring producers. Bananas (ES and PB), yams (ES), passion fruit (BA, CE, SE and SC), natural rubber (MA), cocoa (AM), açaí (AC ), cowpea (MT) and cashew nuts (PB, PE and PI).
The PGPAF includes crops whose prices received by the producer were below the guarantee. The publication of the ordinance with the monthly bonus amounts is carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Mapa), which passes it on to financial agents. These, in turn, grant discounts to producers on their Pronaf financing automatically, without the need for a request.
