Nutriagro wins SRI Inova Oeste award for product innovation

Nutriagro, Coopavel's foliar fertilizer industry created less than two years ago, is one of the winners of the second edition of the Inova Oeste Award from SRI – Regional Innovation System, one of the leading structures in the innovation ecosystem in Western Paraná. The official announcement of the winners was made at an event, in Medianeira, a few days ago, Link SRI, which brought together anchor companies and startups. The award is a partnership between SRI and Sebrae and Senai.

With the Salus Magis fertilizer, Nutriagro won in the Product Innovation for Medium and Large Companies category – in total, Inova Oeste has six categories. The president of Coopavel, Dilvo Grolli, brought together professionals from Nutriagro and Coopavel's technology and innovation areas, during a meeting of the Board of Directors, to highlight the importance of the achievement.

“Nutriagro is a new company that, attentive to the innovations and possibilities it offers, brings highly efficient solutions to the market with excellent results for rural producers”, stated Dilvo, citing the strategic importance of a recently created innovation coordinator that starts to present solutions that will take Coopavel to a new stage in its growth process. “This SRI award reaffirms Coopavel’s status as an innovative company”, defines Innovation Projects coordinator Kleberson Hayashi Angelossi.

The fertilizer

Nutriagro manager, Cassio Bassi, informs that Salus Magis belongs to the family of protectors and resistance inducers. The fertilizer was created by evaluating other active ingredients that some chemical companies add to fungicide mixtures to improve the application of this substance in wheat, corn and soybean crops.

“We evaluated how these other items worked, what their limitations were, so we were able to realize that the majority of them are contact items, with external cleaning of the sheet. And Salus Magis comes to enhance the action of fungicides, but we went further”, informs Cassio. Other factors were added to the fertilizer, such as salicylic compounds that help control the hormonal regulation of the crop.

Fertilizer regulates the plant's balance from the inside out. A first external action then takes place, with cleaning and sanitation, and from this the plant begins to absorb nutrients so that from the inside it can remain healthier, more vigorous and uniform. Salus Magis, which supports the plant in its metabolic processes, has additional nutrition, such as nitrogen, which contributes to the penetration of these items into the leaf and is a fundamental macronutrient for all plant chains.

The fertilizer awarded at Inova Oeste managed to combine nutrition, hormonal regulation technology and productivity. In wheat areas where it was used, in the region covered by Coopavel, average productivity increased by between 15 and 25 bags per hectare.

Another characteristic of the product: by making the plant make the most of its productive genetics, environmental advances are made. Salus Magis has lower doses and, together with fungicides, improves performance, requiring fewer applications, reducing impact in these areas.

According to Nutriagro agronomist, Jhonatas Alves Ribeiro, field work has shown that Salus Magis brings important increases in rooting and in its inhumostimulation action in the plant's defense.
