Agricultural Market - August 4, 2026
The advance of American crops is reducing soybean prices, while quality losses are supporting other grains.
Focusing on a new generation of mixtures that combine generic and patented molecules, Nortox announced the launch of three products for the Brazilian market: the insecticides Tempus and Typhoon and the herbicide Raker Top. The new products were presented during the company's 4th Cooperative Meeting, held at the end of July in Foz do Iguaçu (PR).
According to the company, Tempus offers prolonged action and high efficiency in controlling caterpillars, providing long-lasting protection in different crops. The product combines the knockdown effect of chlorpyrifos with the persistence of chlorantraniliprole.
Typhoon, on the other hand, is indicated for the control of corn leafhoppers and fall armyworms. It is an exclusive Nortox blend with a broad spectrum of action against the main corn pests and an immediate knockdown effect. Its formulation combines chlorantraniliprole and methomyl in the OD formulation.
For the herbicide segment, Raker Top arrives as a selective and systemic product for post-emergence application, formulated with nicosulfuron and tolpyralate. The herbicide is indicated for weed control in corn crops and features two safeners, which provide greater selectivity to the crop and reduce the risk of phytotoxicity.
João Marcos Ferrari, Commercial Director of Nortox, highlights the company's investment in the development of exclusive blends and states that the strategy marks the beginning of a new phase for the company. "This demonstrates once again that the company has a well-defined strategy," he adds.
The 4th edition of the Cooperative Meeting brought together representatives from 39 cooperatives from the states of Paraná, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul, Mato Grosso do Sul and São Paulo. The program began on Wednesday (July 29th) with the reception of the teams, and continued on Thursday (July 30th) with lectures and technical presentations on agribusiness trends and solutions developed by Nortox.
At the opening, the CEO of Nortox, Romeu Stanguerlin, presented the company's trajectory, the results obtained, and the growth prospects projected in the strategic plan until 2030. Following this, João Marcos Ferrari discussed the evolution of the company's portfolio, highlighting investments in research, innovation, product development, plant nutrition, and seeds.
Throughout the meeting, programs aimed at cooperatives, fungicide management strategies, pasture solutions, and advances in the area of herbicides were also presented, in addition to technical discussions that promoted the exchange of experiences between Nortox specialists and cooperative representatives.
The program also included lectures from external guests, such as economist Igor Barreto from Itaú BBA, who presented an analysis of the economic scenario and prospects for agribusiness, and researcher Aroldo Marochi, who addressed the challenges related to crop diseases and fungicide management.
