To contribute to the electrification of the country, four companies came together and launched Rota Sul, the first private network of charging stations with fast chargers connecting the capitals and important cities of the South Region. In the project, which is a partnership between Movida, Nissan, the SIM Station Network and Zletric, a total of nine points with chargers will be installed.
Rota Sul will offer convenient and safe charging solutions on highways, as all equipment will be located within SIM Network gas stations, so that electric vehicle users can travel without worry.
"Electric mobility is already in our daily lives; it is no longer the future, it is the present. Most cities are already covered with chargers for electric cars. Now we want to offer this peace of mind on Brazil's roads as well", says Pedro Schaan, CEO of Zletric, a company that was created in 2019 with the aim of solving the problem of recharging electric vehicles in Brazil and launched, in the same year, the unprecedented concept of charging networks.
There will be five fast chargers, a 60Kw model with CCS and Chademo connectors, which will come into operation in the coming weeks. In Rio Grande do Sul, fast chargers are being implemented in São Sebastião do Caí, Gravataí, Gramado and Três Cachoeiras. Laguna, in Santa Catarina, will also have an electric station. By October, four other cities will have charging stations in operation: Caxias do Sul (RS), Bento Gonçalves (RS), Itajaí (SC) and Araquari (SC).
The fast chargers at Posto SIM Retro, located on RS-122 in São Sebastião do Caí, a traditional stop on the route between Serra Gaúcha and Porto Alegre, and at Posto SIM da Freeway, in Gravataí, on the highway that connects the coast of Rio Grande do Sul to the capital , are now available to users. According to Schaan, the idea is that by the end of the year, Rota Sul will serve the three states in the South region.
With the initiative, it will be possible to leave São Paulo (SP) and go to Punta del Este, in Uruguay, safe in the knowledge that there will be fast chargers for electric cars every 200 km.
For Nissan, manufacturer of the Nissan LEAF, Rota Sul reinforces the objective of contributing to electric mobility. "Nissan's commitment to electrification goes far beyond simply offering electric vehicles in the country. Our mission is to develop this new culture of mobility, through agreements that encourage the use of electric vehicles and support the study of technology and solutions linked to electrification", says Humberto Gomez, Marketing Director at Nissan do Brasil.
