The mandatory registration of tractors and agricultural machinery to travel on public roads will begin from September 30th.
The mandatory registration was provided for in Law 13.154/15, which amended the Brazilian Traffic Code. The regulation took place in April this year through Decree 11.014/22, which approved the text of the Regulation of the National Registry of Tractors and Agricultural Machines (Renagro).
Under the terms of the Regulation, registration is mandatory for tractors and machines that travel on public roads, and it is also mandatory to carry the Renagro document. In the case of machines and equipment that do not travel on public roads, registration remains optional.
The Renagro code for each tractor or agricultural machine is unique and unchangeable.
To obtain registration with Renagro, there are requirements:
• Valid and active registration of the owner in the Renagro system;
• Pre-registration of the tractor or agricultural machinery by the manufacturer, importer or authorized agent; It is
• Documentary analysis of the tractor or agricultural machine.
Owner registration with Renagro presupposes the following information: full name, CPF number, home address, cell phone number and email.
If the owner is a legal entity, the following must be informed: CNPJ number, company name, business name, address, telephone number, email and identification of the legal representative.
Renagro is optional for tractors and agricultural machinery produced before 2016, even if they travel on public roads.
Sanctions for those who fail to comply with the legislation include a fine and seizure of the vehicle.
