The Ministry of Agriculture (Mapa), through the Secretariat of Agricultural Defense (SDA) and the Sub-Secretariat of Information Technology (STI), launched Mapa LABs, a single application for collecting samples and sending laboratory analysis results. This is the first technological solution of the Integrated Services Platform of Agricultural Defense (PSDA) and aims to integrate information and speed up processes for the different entities involved.

The Secretary of Agricultural Defense, Carlos Goulart, highlighted the importance of this innovation. "This process of transforming self-control is agile, provides greater security, facilitates data management and relieves both public and private services." Goulart also said that two more deliveries of the platform are scheduled for 2025.

The Undersecretary of Information Technology (STI) of MAPA, Camilo Mussi, thanked and congratulated the SDA for the new digital platform. “It is an honor to be part of this moment with the SDA, it is a great gain for agricultural technology."

The application will begin with the official and private monitoring of pathogens provided for in the National Pathogen Control Program, gathering results obtained from official collections by Mapa and by the production sector in its quality control, in compliance with the provisions of SDA/Mapa Normative Instruction No. 20, of 2016 and SDA/Mapa Normative Instruction No. 60, of 2018. Over time, all official sample collections by the Secretariat of Agricultural Defense will be migrated to the app and fully integrated into the Platform's single database.

The application integrates the self-control process, as the solution for accessing data from companies' quality control analyses was presented for integration, so that, subsequently, the departments of the Secretariat of Agricultural Defense will define which information will be transmitted to meet the requirements of the Compliance Program and the self-control process.

In addition to the solution for mobile devices that works online and offline, Mapa LABs also offers integration services to laboratories via API, automatically connecting them to the production chain.

The application was developed by the team from the General Coordination of Agricultural Laboratories, in partnership with the Departments of the Secretariat of Agricultural Defense, Sub-Secretariat of Information Technology of Mapa and Serpro.

In addition to the servers involved in creating the tool and those who will be impacted by it, representatives from 150 companies were present at the launch.
