During the opening of One Agro, this Monday morning (10), the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, Tereza Cristina, highlighted the importance of agribusiness for the Brazilian economy, stating that Brazil is a global power and that “ sustainability can go hand in hand with productivity.”
“Agriculture produced, in the last 40 years, when Brazil was a mere importer of food, 346% more, with only a 33% increase in its area. This means producing in an efficient and innovative way”, highlighted the minister.
The distorted and mistaken image that “Brazil delivers poor quality products, as if this were true” should not be tolerated, said the minister, when congratulating the holding of One Agro, presenting her expectations for the event to leave “ guidelines so that we can work together in one One Agro. The Ministry of Agriculture is a partner in this crusade to improve the image of agribusiness in Brazilian society and the world.”
From June 10th to 12th, Syngenta is promoting One Agro in Campinas (SP), the largest agribusiness event in Brazil. Among those present, producers, distributors, authorities, researchers and other members of the value chain, which together represent 40% of Brazilian agricultural GDP and a third of the entire planted area in the country. Among the topics that will be debated are sustainability in agriculture, the use of new technologies, new forms of financing and many others.
