Corn harvest reaches 68% of the planted area in Rio Grande do Sul
According to the Emater-RS Economic Information, the activity reaches 68% of the implemented area
This week, the Minister of Agriculture, Carlos Fávaro, held a meeting with the board of directors of the Brazilian Association of Bioinput Industries, Abinbio. The meeting promoted dialogue on the development and regulation of the sector, in addition to highlighting the importance of the product for the sustainable advancement of Brazilian agriculture.
“This is a very important issue. It is a path towards the sustainable advancement of Brazilian agriculture. Bioinputs will certainly play a big role in our future development and you can count on the support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock”, said Minister Fávaro.
The meeting highlighted that with advances in the bioinput industry, Brazil can benefit from less impactful and more productive agriculture, in addition to generating jobs and income, from the sector's production chain. The product developed in the national territory also strengthens the country's independence and sovereignty, without requiring external purchase.
“The meeting was very important for the Brazilian bioinput industry sector. We are very aligned. We want to encourage bioinputs to grow in the country and increasingly make up the farmer's portfolio of technologies”, explained the president of Abinbio, Marcelo Godoy.
Bioinputs are products based on biological components, such as microorganisms and plant extracts. It can be used in the production, storage and processing of agricultural products, enhancing environmental gains throughout the production chain.
One of its functions is to combat pests and diseases, which can increase the availability of nutrients for plants. This way, better soil fertility is achieved, in addition to being biodegradable, providing more sustainable agriculture.
