From January to August 2025, Minas Gerais' agribusiness exports reached US$12,8 billion. This represents a 13,5% increase compared to the same period the previous year. With this record result, Minas Gerais remains the third-largest exporter of agricultural products in the country, accounting for 12% of national agricultural revenue.

While revenue increased, shipped volume fell 8,7% compared to the previous year's January-August period, totaling 11,6 million tons. More than 590 different agricultural products from Minas Gerais were shipped to 174 countries, with emphasis on China (26%), the United States (11%), Germany (8%), Italy, and Japan (5%).

For Manoela Teixeira, technical advisor at the State Department of Agriculture (Seapa/MG), the expansion of Minas Gerais' agricultural revenue has been influenced by the appreciation in average product prices. "Furthermore, the export sector has been conquering new markets or expanding its presence on alternative routes, such as the Philippines, Mexico, and Chile, which are emerging as strategic destinations for Minas Gerais proteins," she emphasizes.

Café

Coffee, the flagship of Minas Gerais' agricultural exports, reached US$6,88 billion, accounting for more than half of the sector's revenue. Revenue jumped 52% compared to 2024, driven by price appreciation, a favorable exchange rate, and the continued quality that solidifies Minas Gerais as a leading supplier of coffee.

The state alone accounts for around 70% of Brazilian coffee exports, which confirms its absolute leadership.

Soybean

The soybean complex (grains, oil and bran) registered US$ 2,4 billion with the shipment of 6 million tons and a drop of 18% and 10% respectively.

Sugar and alcohol producer

The volume reached 3 million tons, totaling US$ 1,2 billion with an 18,3% drop in revenue.

forest products

Forest products (pulp, timber, and paper) reached approximately US$653 million. Shipped volume reached 1 million tons.
