With technical support from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the National Supply Company (Conab) and the Agricultural Marketing and Development Services Agency (Aserca) concluded, this week, in Mexico City, the cooperation mission between the two countries. The result of the meeting between the two largest institutions in Latin America and the Caribbean in the area of food supply was the exchange of experiences in marketing, price risk management operations and storage certification.

During the beginning of the mission, the representative of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Mexico, Crispim Moreira, highlighted that both Aserca and Conab are institutional assets of their respective countries, therefore the exchange of experiences will facilitate that FAO continues to promote Latin American cooperation among all countries in the region.

In the case of Brazil, one of the objectives of the meeting is also to increase the country's participation in the world grain market, ensuring better storage techniques, marketing policies and production and export strategies. This is because, despite being one of the largest producers and exporters of sugar, coffee, soy, beef and chicken, Brazil still allocates a large part of this production to the domestic market. The intention, according to the delegation that represented the Company and the country, is to use this experience to implement food safety, marketing and storage policies that enable this expansion.
