MEA - Memorial da Evolução Agrícola will participate in the 24th edition of Fenasoja. The Fair will be held from November 29 to December 8, at the Alfredo Leandro Carlson Exhibition Park, in Santa Rosa, Rio Grande do Sul (RS).
Created in 1966, Fenasoja is the largest multi-sector fair in Brazil and this year celebrates 100 years of commercial soybeans in the country. The event is spread across 13 pavilions, which house industry, commerce, services, crafts, family farming, livestock and a sector specialized in agribusiness and agricultural machinery. In addition, it has an infrastructure for shows and cultural environments.
In the 2024 edition, during the 10 days of the event, the public will be able to experience the MEA Experience Space, an option for rest, socializing and contact with Art and Agriculture. Fenasoja participants will also be offered a free daily transfer for in-person visits to MEA, in Horizontina/RS, departing from Gate 3 at 8:30 am.
“MEA is making its debut at Fenasoja 2024, a space that allows us to promote this cultural complex that opened exactly one year ago. After all, MEA’s narrative emphasizes special attention to soybean cultivation and the importance of agricultural mechanization as a lever for this crop,” highlights Edilson Proença, president of the John Deere Institute. “And to our pride, we are celebrating 100 years of soybeans in Brazil,” he adds.
The MEA's environments and attractions at Fenasoja include a rest area, hammocks with special playlists, charging points for cell phones and similar devices, a container with image projections and virtual reality glasses that take the fair's visitors on a 360º journey through the Memorial's long-term exhibition. And the experience continues at night with tubular lighting.
The highlight of the MEA Experience Space is the sensory and Instagrammable installation that pays homage to 100 years of soy in Brazil, where the public can walk and interact with the grain. Designed by visual artist, photographer and set designer, Karla Pê (Rio de Janeiro).
“The MEA Experience Space was created to provide an opportunity for the public to integrate with the world of agricultural production in a playful and immersive way,” explains Karla Pê. “Using elements that are only recognized in storage areas, warehouses and large sheds, we reinterpreted objects and brought them to the target of the scene, with a lot of technology, exhibition content and a common area,” adds the artist.
“Being at Fenasoja means joining forces with everything that involves agriculture in the state of Rio Grande do Sul and in the country and celebrating the origin and diversity that is part of the trajectory of Brazilian agricultural evolution”, highlights Karina Muniz Viana, director of MEA.
