Ernane Horst, from the Augustin dealership, in Paraná, and Marlon Oliveira Ferreira, from the Redemaq dealership, in Minas Gerais, are the winners of Master Mechanic, the first reality competition focused on agribusiness, carried out by Massey Ferguson. Each winner will receive, in addition to the personalized and exclusive Master Mechanic trophy, R$10 and a trip with a companion to Argentina for tourism in Buenos Aires and will also visit the Massey Ferguson factory, in General Rodriguez.

“Agricultural mechanics play an extremely important role and can transform field operations efficiently, contributing to greater productivity and profitability. The Master Mechanic sought to work on the appreciation, retention and passion for this profession and recognize its relevance for food production”, highlights Rodrigo Junqueira, general manager AGCO and vice-president Massey Ferguson South America.

Mechanical engineer and specialist in precision agriculture, Marlon lives in Paracatu (MG) and is part of the team at the concessionaire Redemaq Minas. He served as service manager, but chose to return to the field to carry out training and technical deliveries, in addition to contributing to team training with a focus on understanding farmers' needs and how agricultural machines can collaborate effectively with production.

“Participating in Master Mechanic was an achievement and a unique experience. As much as we are already used to a certain pressure, this hint of emotion from reality made everything different. We worked well, followed all the rules and managed to emerge victorious. My objective was achieved, which was to prove to all assistants and mechanics in this country that we can always evolve, and highlight that our role is fundamental to the development of Brazilian agriculture”, says Marlon.

Ernane, resident in Guarapuava (PR), is responsible for the technical delivery of a wide range of agricultural equipment at the Augustin dealership, in addition to assisting in resolving complex diagnoses, using his experience in technology. In his daily life he seeks to make technology accessible and understandable for all producer profiles, ensuring full use of technological advances to improve productivity and profitability.

“It’s a joy to be on Master Mechanic, which is Agro’s first reality show. We were challenged in tests that represent our daily lives and competed with the best mechanics in Brazil. As we worked well, we were awarded first place. Agriculture doesn’t stop and being part of this Massey Ferguson technical assistance system is very good”, says Ernane.

The winners competed with four other competitors for the award for best agricultural mechanic in Brazil. Mechanics Aurélio Xavier de Brito (Formiga/MG) and Alan Machado (Jaboticabal/SP) took second place and Diego Mercory Amaral (Naviraí/MS) and Edvaldo Ferreira Costa (Palmas/TO) came in third place.

During the tests, participants were divided into pairs, through a draw, and challenged in practical situations to test technical skills and knowledge. “We segment the tests, from the preparation of the equipment at the dealership and delivery to the farmer to incidents that may occur during operation in the field and that need to be resolved quickly, given that agricultural production windows in Brazil are increasingly shorter”, he details. Bruno Pianca, service manager at Massey Ferguson.

The three episodes of the first season of Master Mechanic are available on the special hotsite mastermechanic.com.br and on Massey Ferguson Brasil's YouTube.
