Rice prices fall in early June
Between June 4th and 11th, the indicator registered a drop of 1%, closing at R$ 44,18/sc of 50 kg
In recent years, Brazil has been among the five largest cotton producers in the world, alongside countries such as China, the United States, India and Pakistan. In the 2017/2018 period alone, the harvest registered a record of 2,1 million tons, a number that should reach 2,5 million tons in the 2018/2019 harvest year. Exports will be around 1,2 million tons, making Brazil the second largest exporter in the world, a position currently occupied in the ranking by Australia.
With an eye on this market, which is expanding, students graduating in Mechanical Engineering from FEI University Center, a reference in Engineering teaching, presented on June 7th the Cotton Picker & Baler, an agricultural implement that bales cotton while still in the field, improving the logistics involved in the flow of this product. By allowing better use of available space in transport trucks, the solution will reduce costs for national cotton producers.
