Mato Grosso do Sul captures R$1,5 billion in agricultural credit in the first month of the 2024-25 agricultural year

Amount is 31% lower than the same period of the previous year

The first month of agricultural credit use of the 2024/25 harvest year totaled R$ 1,5 billion, in Mato Grosso do Sul. According to the rural credit bulletin released this week, by the Association of Soy Producers of Mato Grosso do South – Aprosoja/MS, the amount is 31% lower than the same period of the previous year.

In July, the purpose of agricultural funding was responsible for capturing 83% of total resources, equivalent to R$ 1,2 billion. Agricultural activity was the main destination for funds, with more than R$807 million, while livestock raising raised another R$486 million. Investment, commercialization and industrialization purposes totaled R$270,5 million. 

Public banks were the main funding channels, making more than R$1 billion available, followed by private banks, with R$413,4 million, and credit cooperatives, R$71,33 million. Of the total raised, most of the resources were raised without a program, R$934 million; followed by Pronamp, with R$347,3 million and Pronaf, with R$16,6 million. 

In Brazil, the volume of agricultural credit raised in the month of June this year was R$22,9 billion, 20% higher than the same period of the previous year.
