Massey Ferguson launches special edition of the MF 35x tractor

In 2022, Massey Ferguson celebrates 175 years of operation in the world and, to celebrate, launches a special edition of the classic MF 35x tractor. The imported model gave rise to the MF 50, better known as “Cinquentinha”, the first tractor produced by the brand in Brazil and which, for years, was a reference in the field and a symbol of pioneering in the modernization of agricultural activity and expansion of agribusiness in the country.      

“The special edition pays homage to all the farmers who dedicated themselves so much to agriculture and who built, alongside Massey Ferguson, the history of Brazilian agricultural mechanization. It is a tractor aimed at admirers of our brand to remember the country's entry into modern agriculture”, highlights Eduardo Nunes, Marketing Director at Massey Ferguson.

Numbered and limited

With just 100 units produced, the commemorative series maintained the characteristics of the original model, incorporating new technologies. The engine, for example, although it is very similar to the previous one, has a more precise injection pump, more efficient filtration systems, in addition to the components being manufactured with new materials.

Fernando Viana, a rural producer in Abaeté (MG), is one of the model's admirers and has already purchased it. He says that, since he was a child, he has been an aficionado of agricultural machinery and saw in the MF 35x the opportunity to operate a tractor from the 1950s, but with the performance of a zero kilometer. “The story of the MF 35x is very interesting. With very low operating costs and easy maintenance, it was used to mechanize the farms of small producers, changing the farmer's life. We live in such a fast-paced moment in agribusiness, with huge machines, and I am very happy to have the possibility of working with a replica of an old tractor, especially being a collector’s series”, he says.

The Bonatto family began mechanizing the property with the MF 50x tractor, successor to the MF 35x, in the 1960s. Soybean and wheat producers in Cruz Alta (RS), began agricultural activity in an area of ​​40 hectares and, today , have 400 hectares under cultivation, in addition to six agricultural machines, including the brand's tractor, sprayer and harvester. Upon learning of the special edition, Renato Bonatto purchased the model to honor his father, José Gilmar Bonatto. “I wanted to give a special gift for my father's birthday and honor him for his entire career in the field”, he highlights.

With a 36,5 hp engine, the MF 35x has a transmission with six forward and two reverse gears and a lifting capacity of 1.100 kg in the three-point system. “Although it is aimed at collectors and lovers of the brand, nothing prevents the model from being used in field operations. It is a fully functional tractor with the durability and resistance characteristic of the Massey Ferguson brand”, explains Eder Pinheiro, Tractor Product Marketing Coordinator.
