Mahindra won the second place trophy at the Afubra/Nimeq Award for Technological Innovation in Agricultural Machinery for Family Farming, in the Company category. The winners were announced this Thursday (28), the last day of the fair, in an event held at the Cultural Space at Expoagro Afubra. The Afubra/Nimeq Award is a promotion between Afubra and the Center for Innovation in Agricultural Machinery and Equipment at the Federal University of Pelotas (Nimeq/UfPel), and is in partnership with the University of Santa Cruz do Sul (Unisc).
This year nine companies participated in the company category. Among the requirements assessed by the organizing committee was the contribution of the invention to agricultural productivity, care for the preservation of the environment, originality, creativity, practicality, among others.
The winning tractor is the 2025 25 hp model, launched in 2019 for the Brazilian market, suitable for severe applications, especially for tobacco producers, fruit and vegetable growers and grape producers. As it is subcompact, it is suitable for work in greenhouses and narrow streets, where maneuvering space is limited, as well as flower beds up to 80 cm. Its lifting capacity is 750 kilos and the Power Take-Off (TDP) has two speeds: 540 rpm or 540E rpm. It has a two-cylinder agricultural engine, modern design and lifting capacity in the hydraulic system with three points in the segment. The new model, a product already present in other markets such as Southeast Asia, Oceania, the United States and Mexico, arrives in Brazil to complement the Mahindra tractor portfolio, which is made up of models with up to 95 hp. The 2025 tractor will be sold across the country from April 2019, XNUMX.
