Mahindra announces construction of industrial plant in Rio Grande do Sul

The new unit will allow the company to increase its production from 2,6 tractors per year to 8; initial investment will be R$55 million

In the first quarter of 2025 there will be a significant increase in the number of agricultural tractors offered on the Brazilian market. Mahindra has just announced the construction of an industrial plant. It will be in the municipality of Araricá, in Rio Grande do Sul. The official announcement was attended by the state governor (Eduardo Leite), the Indian ambassador to Brazil (Shri Suresh Reddy), the CEO and president of Mahindra Americas (Viren Popli ) and the CEO of Mahindra Brasil (Jak Torretta Jr.), among others.

The factory will have a total area of ​​93 thousand square meters, with the initial construction covering 14 thousand square meters. The initial investment will be R$55 million. In up to five years, it will reach R$100 million. The new unit will allow Mahindra to increase its production from 2,6 tractors per year to 8. And there will be the creation of 300 direct jobs.

Mahindra arrived in Brazil in 2012. In October 2016, the Brazilian operation was taken over by Mahindra & Mahindra. The company's Brazilian subsidiary has stood out in recent years. From 2012 to 2023 it grew more than ten times. Sales went from 200 to 2,6 tractors.
