Aprosoja/MS has revised upwards its productivity estimate for the 2025/2026 soybean crop in Mato Grosso do Sul. According to data from the Siga-MS Project, the state average has increased from 52,8 to 61,7 sacks per hectare.
The new level represents a 19,2% increase compared to the previous harvest. With this, state production could reach 17,7 million tons, a volume 26,3% higher than that recorded in the 2024/2025 cycle. The cultivated area remained at 4,7 million hectares, indicating a 5,9% expansion year-on-year.
According to Flavio Aguena, technical advisor for Aprosoja/MS, the revision is based on productivity sampling carried out in 19,5% of the area. "The numbers may still be adjusted, as they depend on the completion of the Land Use and Occupation study and the progress of the survey on the properties," he states.
According to Siga-MS, as of April 3rd, the soybean harvest had reached 74,1% of the area in the North region, 85,5% in the Central region, and 98,4% in the South region of Mato Grosso do Sul. In total, approximately 4,3 million hectares had already been harvested in the state.
With the soybean harvest progressing, the planting of the second corn crop is also proceeding at an accelerated pace. To date, 2,1 million hectares have been sown, which corresponds to 95,3% of the planned area in the North, 93,1% in the Center, and 99,6% in the South.
The estimate for the 2025/2026 second-crop corn indicates an area of 2,2 million hectares, an increase of approximately 3% compared to the previous cycle. On the other hand, the average productivity is projected at 84,2 sacks per hectare, a decrease of 22,4% compared to the last harvest.
With this, production should reach 11,1 million tons, a volume 20,1% lower than that obtained in 2024/2025.
