The elected president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, announced today (29/12) senator Carlos Fávaro as the new minister of agriculture.

The choice had been taken for granted for days. Mainly due to Fávaro's proximity to the then candidate Lula.

After the announcement, Fávaro said that “responsible, sustainable, contemporary advancement, combined with everything that is most modern and safe to continue evolving in food security in Brazil and the world, is an immeasurable responsibility”.

Carlos Fávaro became senator due to supplementary election held in 2020. The originally elected candidate, Selma Arruda, had her ticket revoked by the TSE.

A Cultivar Magazine presented information about projects and votes by Senator Carlos Fávaro on 25/12/2022.
