Luis Rua takes over as Secretary of Commerce and International Relations of the Ministry of Agriculture

The Ministry of Agriculture (Mapa) announced the appointment of Luis Rua as the new Secretary of Commerce and International Relations. The appointment to the position was formalized through Ordinance No. 1.100, published in today's (4) Official Gazette of the Union (DOU).

Born in Mogi Guaçu (SP), Rua holds a bachelor's degree in Economics and International Relations from the University of Campinas (Facamp). He also holds a master's degree in International Economics from the School of Economics of the University of Porto (FEP/UP) and a postgraduate degree in Agribusiness from the Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture (Esalq/USP).

Since 2020, Luis Rua has served as the market director at the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA), an organization that represents the poultry and swine sectors. At ABPA, he worked to promote new opportunities for the production sector, through international negotiations and institutional relations with stakeholders both in Brazil and abroad.
