Low humidity reduces the pace of soybean sowing in Brazil

With the irregular and lower-than-expected rains, soybean producers reduced the pace of sowing the new crop, which had started in different states. Forecasts from Cptec (Center for Weather Forecasting and Climate Studies) indicate more than a 70% probability of rain in several regions of Brazil in the coming days, but irregularly.

This adverse climate for the second consecutive year has been worrying agents, considering that it could once again harm the second harvest in Brazil, especially corn. At the same time, uncertainties related to the growth of China and a company in the real estate segment in that country ended up putting pressure on Brazilian grain values.

Between September 17th and 24th, the ESALQ/BM&FBovespa – Paranaguá and CEPEA/ESALQ – Paraná soybean indicators fell 0,97% and 0,9%, with respective averages of R$ 173,73/60 kg bag and R$ $170,06/sc.
