Liquidity in the domestic coffee market is low at the beginning of July. According to Cepea researchers, many agents are aware of the possible impacts of frost on part of the Arabica coffee plantations in the Northwest of Paraná and São Paulo (Garça and Alta Paulista).
For now, agents from Paraná consulted by Cepea are still investigating the extent of the damage, but, in São Paulo, collaborators point out that few crops suffered significant losses. After the cold wave in Brazil passed, international arabica values fell, putting pressure on domestic prices and keeping producers away from the market.
This Tuesday, the 6th, the CEPEA/ESALQ Indicator for type 6 Arabica, posted in the capital of São Paulo, closed at R$ 817,13/60 kg bag, a drop of 3,21% in the July partial.
