Vamos becomes a Komatsu distributor in Rio Grande do Sul

Vamos was appointed by Komatsu as the brand's official representative in Rio Grande do Sul. With this, the company expands its presence in the Rio Grande do Sul market, where it already operates with Transrio – the country's Volkswagen truck and bus dealership network – and Vamos Seminovos, in addition to the rental of trucks, machines and equipment from different brands.

Starting this month, Vamos Komatsu will operate in the state with two units, which will initially operate alongside the Transrio dealerships in the municipalities of Caixas do Sul and Eldorado do Sul. Both received investments in renovations and improvements to support the brand. In Caxias, the unit will have a temporary 500 m² workshop to serve customers until the permanent store is ready. The dealership in Eldorado will receive a Komatsu modular structure and, further on, a showroom for the brand's machines.

“With this expansion, we will be able to bring the latest and most innovative technology to our customers in the South region and take advantage of synergies between our business lines to offer integrated solutions. We have experience as Komatsu distributors, as we already work with the brand in the Central-West, and this will allow us to offer the Rio Grande do Sul market a service with even greater quality of service”, comments Bernardo Uliana, general manager of Komatsu Dealers at Vamos.

In addition to the units in Rio Grande do Sul, Vamos Komatsu has four stores in Mato Grosso and one in Mato Grosso do Sul. As in these states, the company will sell the manufacturer's complete portfolio in Rio Grande do Sul. This includes hydraulic excavators, wheel loaders, motor graders and tracked tractors of the so-called Yellow Line. In addition, the stores will also provide after-sales, including offering genuine spare parts and maintenance and repair services.

Gaucho market and synergies

Holder of one of the largest Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the country, Rio Grande do Sul plays an important role in national production. With a mixed economy, the state stands out for its activities in the services, agricultural and industrial sectors – which includes civil construction. In 2022, activity grew 5,8% in Rio Grande do Sul, boosting the industrial sector in Rio Grande do Sul as a whole, according to the Department of Economics and Statistics of the State Secretariat for Planning, Governance and Management.

According to market data collected by Vamos, the state represents between 6% and 7% of the national demand for equipment. Historically, Rio Grande do Sul has had a significant demand, which varies between 1,3 and 1,6 machines per year, a volume that indicates great growth potential for Vamos in the state, both in sales and rental.
