Soybean harvest in the Tropical Plains ends on the 20th

Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC) released this Friday (19/9) its consolidated financial results for the first half of 2025. Despite a challenging global scenario, the company reported net revenue of US$ 26,2 billion, growth of 2,3% compared to the same period in 2024.
EBITDA totaled US$987 million and Operating Results by Segment totaled US$1,217 billion. Net income attributable to the group was US$418 million, down from US$489 million in the first half of the previous year.
Second Michael Gelchie (pictured), CEO of LDC, the company's resilience reflects a diversified business model and disciplined risk management. "Thanks to the agility and dedication of our global teams, we achieved 4,4% volume growth and delivered robust performance, even in the face of persistent geopolitical, regulatory, and environmental challenges," he stated.
During the first half of the year, LDC stepped up investments in infrastructure and origination. Overall, investments jumped from US$299 million in 2024 to US$521 million in 2025. In South America, the group expanded its grain and oilseed origination capacity in Argentina, expanded its coffee processing unit in Varginha, Minas Gerais, and inaugurated an intermodal sugar transshipment terminal in Pederneiras, São Paulo, in August, strengthening its export capacity.
In North America, progress was made with new oilseed processing facilities in Canada and the United States. In Asia, the company launched a glycerin refining plant and an edible oil bottling line in Indonesia, as well as a lecithin production line for specialty feeds in China.
The juice segment also made progress in its strategy to connect with end consumers, with the Montebelo Brasil brand reaching markets in Indonesia, Germany, and Portugal. Another highlight was the start of construction on the Food Technology Park in Dongjiakou, China, focused on grain, oilseed, food, and feed solutions.
Gelchie reinforced that the company will remain focused on strengthening its global network and expanding the integration of its businesses. "We are advancing our strategic plan to transform LDC into an increasingly integrated, innovative, and sustainable company, which becomes even more relevant in today's rapidly evolving global context," he emphasized.
