Bravíssima corn platform is a highlight of Stara at Expointer
Launch brings robustness, durability and solutions to increase yield and reduce costs in corn harvesting
In 2025, Kuhn Brazil celebrates 20 years of operations in the country and will be participating in Expointer in Esteio, Rio Grande do Sul, showcasing equipment designed for efficient grain and rice planting. At the brand's booth, two models are highlighted: the Quadra pneumatic seeder and the Oriza mechanical seeder, designed specifically for rice cultivation.
The Quadra combines performance and precision with technologies that offer agility, safety, and durability. Self-transporting, it can be placed in transport position in just over a minute, without the operator having to leave the tractor. The model has a transport width of 4,80 meters and working widths of 9 meters (Quadra 9000) and 10 meters (Quadra 10000).
With 4.500-liter stainless steel tanks, the machine holds up to 4.950 kg of fertilizer and 3.600 kg of seeds. Its patented pneumatic distribution system ensures even deposition, while Isobus technology allows you to monitor all functions directly on the tractor's display.
In the rice segment, the latest addition is the Oriza, a mechanical seeder designed for growing in mud and uneven terrain. The model stands out for its structural robustness, which ensures durability against the stresses of planting in systematic soil, as well as articulated wheels that enhance performance. The planting rows follow the terrain and maintain the correct seed depth, resulting in stand uniformity.
Another distinguishing feature of Oriza is its high-capacity polyethylene tanks, on average 25% larger than those of competing models, which increases autonomy and reduces stops for refueling.
The launch comes at a strategic time for the industry. Rio Grande do Sul, the host state of the fair, accounts for over 70% of national rice production, according to the Rio Grande do Sul Rice Institute (Irga). Brazil also accounts for 28% of rice production in the Americas, according to Embrapa.
According to Conab, Brazilian rice production is expected to grow 14% in 2025 compared to the previous year, but the climate challenge requires producers to invest in technologies capable of ensuring efficiency and production safety.
For Lucas Moraes Castro, Marketing and Network Development Manager at Kuhn, participating in the fair reinforces the company's proximity to Brazilian producers.
"Expointer is the perfect stage to celebrate this story because it all began 20 years ago in Rio Grande do Sul, with our first factory in Passo Fundo. This year, we want to demonstrate, through machines like the Quadra and Oriza, that our focus remains on offering profitability, technology, and robustness for the challenges of the field," he states.
