Sugar and ethanol production declines in the Center-South
Drop in total production contrasts with advances in biofuel made from corn
At the 48th Expointer, held in Esteio (RS), São José Industrial presents as a highlight the Kelly Diamond implement, a solution focused on soil management that combines productivity, input savings and sustainability.
According to Daniel Ribeiro, the company's marketing manager, the equipment works on four main fronts: straw management, fine grain sowing, seedbed preparation, and weed and invasive plant control.
Among its differentiators, the Kelly Diamond can cover up to 427 hectares in 24 hours of continuous operation, generate savings of up to 100% in the use of chemicals in corn straw management and coverage, in addition to promoting a reduction of up to 34% in fuel consumption when compared to conventional methods.
The results are also reflected in productivity. According to São José, the implement enables up to a 52% increase in continuous operations and yields of up to 4 bags of soybeans per hectare, thanks to proper soil preparation. This combination can represent savings of up to R$100 per hectare in management and preparation costs.
The technology is the result of a partnership with Australian company Kelly Tillage, a global leader present in countries such as the United States, Canada, and Argentina, now represented in Brazil by São José. For the Brazilian manufacturer, the arrival of Kelly Diamond marks an important advancement for the no-till system in the country, with more sustainable practices, soil preservation, and greater profitability for producers.
