Jundiaí producers donated seven tons of Niagara Rosada grapes for test processing at the new Enology Center, at Etec Benedito Storani (Etec Best). The initiative also marked the technical delivery of equipment for the production of wine and grape juice at the unit.
The Center has the capacity to process five tons of grapes per hour to make wine and juice. Technical delivery is a fundamental stage in the process of purchasing any agricultural equipment and is intended to present the machines to producers and technicians, in addition to their functions and specifications. This allows the operator full knowledge of the commands. The Center is expected to begin operating effectively in August.
The laboratory was achieved through coordination between Municipal Management and the Paula Souza Center, with a focus on advancing the sector and offering qualified and specific services and education for the city's rural producers. The total investment was approximately R$16 million. The Enology Center will have a technical course, which will begin in August, lasting three semesters, and which will be the first in the State in Viticulture and Enology. The space will enable wine and grape juice producers in the city and throughout the region to design, prepare and bottle, supervised by technicians and students from the school.
“It is a great achievement for the municipality and will allow producers to add value to their products, increasing quality in the production of wine and grape juice”, celebrates Luiz Fernando Machado, mayor of Jundiaí.
“This is the first time we have put the machines to work during this testing period. And we are very grateful to the producers for donating the grapes for this technical delivery. Without a doubt, it is a huge advance for the entire region and for all wine and juice production in the state of São Paulo as well”, recalled the director of Etec Best, Fabiana Lourençon Moraes.
