John Deere signs technical cooperation agreement with Mato Grosso cotton growers association

In order to promote the training of cotton farmers in Mato Grosso, a state that accounts for a large part of the cotton harvest in the country, John Deere signed a Technical Cooperation Agreement with the Mato Grosso Association of Cotton Producers (Ampa), for through the Mato Grosso Cotton Institute (IMAmt). The partnership, which also involves John Deere dealers in the State, has the main objective of making cotton farming in Mato Grosso soil more sustainable, through the professionalization of agricultural machinery operators.

The signing took place at a Field Day held at Fazenda São Miguel, owned by Grupo Bom Futuro, in Campo Verde (MT), last Saturday (28). Present at the ceremony were Alexandre Schenkel, president of Ampa, Paulo Herrmann, president of John Deere Brasil, Juarez Gavinho, president of Iguaçu Máquinas Agrícolas, as well as other executives from Ampa, IMAmt and other John Deere dealers in the State.

"John Deere's main pillars in the country are the training and qualification of operators, so that these professionals can use the full potential of the machines to increase the productivity of Brazilian agriculture. We are very happy with this partnership, as technology is advancing increasingly in the fields and it is important that operators know all the specificities of agricultural machines, for correct and effective use. Through this Technical Cooperation Agreement, we are increasingly closer to farmers and, in particular, tomato growers. grossenses", said Paulo Herrmann, president of John Deere Brazil.

According to the Technical Cooperation Agreement, John Deere and dealers will use the physical structure available at the Training and Technology Diffusion Centers, where instructors will teach classes using John Deere products, components and technology. The training schedule is being defined based on the identification of demands presented to IMAmt by Ampa associates, focusing on the operation and adjustment of John Deere equipment, preventive maintenance and initial fault diagnosis.

In the next step, a new partnership with John Deere is planned to offer short courses that meet specific needs related to new technologies. Furthermore, John Deere is already involved in a large project to train technologists at the Faculty of Technology of Senai de Mato Grosso (Fatec-Senai/MT). The intention is to offer, from 2019, technical and higher education courses to train professionals who are better prepared to meet the demands of agribusiness.
