John Deere introduces the 500R self-propelled sprayer.

John Deere is presenting the new 500R self-propelled sprayer at Agritechnica 2025 in Germany. The model arrives on the market focusing on application precision, operator comfort, and intuitive operation control. The machine utilizes the brand's already established technologies, such as the PowrSpray system and the premium cab of the 6R tractors and combines.

The 500R offers complete visibility from the cab to the boom, ensuring greater safety and precision. The narrow design facilitates road transport. Even weight distribution improves traction in the field and on asphalt. The space between the tank and the cab allows for the installation of a wide platform.

Air filtration

The cabin offers protection with category 4 air filtration and complete isolation against chemicals. It features multiple compartments, cup holders, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, and a sound system with Bluetooth connectivity.

The new CommandCenter G5Plus has a 35% larger screen and 75% faster performance than previous versions. The multi-functional joystick and CommandArm group functions by theme, making operation easier.

The boom control system features BoomTrac Pro 2, which uses five sensors and an inertial unit to maintain a constant application height. The central structure with active control reduces oscillations and improves stability.

The CommandDrive hydrostatic transmission provides all-wheel drive, with automatic power adjustment per wheel according to weight distribution. In highway mode, the engine operates at 1.350 rpm, reducing fuel consumption and noise.

Spraying precision

In the field, according to the company, spraying accuracy reaches 98% with the combined use of PowrSpray, ExactApply, and BoomTrac Pro 2. The PowrSpray system, with its dual circuit, changes the application volume in up to three seconds, even with variations in forward speed. ExactApply manages nozzles individually with pulse modulation, maintaining a constant droplet size. Automatic curve compensation maintains the application rate, even on uneven paths.

The model integrates the 285 hp PowerTech PSS engine and is available in two versions: 540R with a 4.000-liter tank and 550R with a 5.000-liter tank. The boom can be 30 or 36 meters long, made of steel with a double fold. The maximum spraying speed is 25 km/h, with a travel speed of up to 50 km/h, according to local regulations.

The 500R includes AutoTrac, Section Control, and JDLink systems as standard. Optional features include AutoPath, satellite visualization, and an advanced precision agriculture license.
