The century-old Italian company, world leader in the sale of Antônio Carraro mountain tractors, arrived in Brazil in 2016, through a partnership and technological cooperation agreement with Tramontini Máquinas, from Venâncio Aires (RS). Sales began the following year throughout Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina, and since then, the brand has been taken to other states. The most recent is the opening of a dealership in Boa Esperança, an important coffee producing hub located in the south of Minas Gerais.

“The opening of new dealerships is part of a strategic expansion plan, defined by Tramontini for the coming years. And for this important coffee and fruit producing region we needed a reseller with experience in the market, that's when we found the Oliveira Group, with more than 40 years of tradition and which already works with Yanmar engines”, reveals Everton Coutinho, Commercial Manager of Tramontini Antonio Carraro Tractors.

The Boa Esperança dealership, opened last Friday (25/03), is the first in the state of Minas Gerais, exclusively with Tramontini Antonio Carraro brand tractors. Focusing on coffee and fruit producers, the store will feature the brand's four models: three from the 5800 Series (TN 5800/TRX 5800/TC 5800) and the TRX 7800. But, it's the versatility and power to tackle steep terrain which should attract the attention of producers, as highlighted by the director and owner of the resale, Camila Barbosa Oliveira.

‘We know the performance of Tramontini Antonio Carraro tractors in the field and we were impressed with what they are capable of doing. It has an incredible inclination, it reaches places that other tractors cannot work, it is an excellent tool for our region, especially for coffee plantations”.

Mountain tracts

The Tramontini Antonio Carraro 5800 Series mountain tractor is a super compact 50 hp, which adapts to different requirements and meets the specific needs of orchards, vineyards, coffee plantations, poultry farms, among others.

One of the differentiators of the 5800 Series multifunctional tractor is its reversibility. In an easy and practical way, the operator himself can, in a quick action, even while working in the field, rotate the “cockpit” reversing the seat, panel, steering and pedals, without having to maneuver the tractor to continue the service, according to the labor demand.

Motor

Tramontini Antonio Carraro tractors have a Yanmar 50 HP engine, the same rear transmission previously used only in more powerful tractors, with engines from 70 HP to 90 HP. The gearbox is synchronized, with 24 speeds, 12 forward and 12 reverse (with optional 32 speeds), with synchronized inverter. “It has more ballast and robustness, it is a hybrid between two other product models, the TN Major 5800 and the TRX 7800”, explains Everton. The hydraulic system has a 16 cubic cm pump, which provides a flow of 43 liters per minute. It also comes with an oil cooler, an innovative item for a tractor of this size.

Performance

“Another new feature is the economical power take-off option (TDP), which the operator can select in a situation where there is no demand for so much power. This should result in fuel savings when working, when under normal conditions”, adds Everton. “To activate the PTO, simply press an independent button located on the vehicle’s dashboard. It’s easy to do and simple to turn off.”

On the panel, there is the rear traction lock option, which can be activated at any time, with the simple touch of a button, even in risky situations. The front axle lock remains pedal-operated.

Safety

Tramontini Antonio Carraro mountain tractors are compact, low and have stability when traveling over rough terrain and ease of movement in vineyards and between fruit orchards, situations that are very common in regions such as Serra Gaúcha. Some features are present in all the brand's models: they are isodiametric, with tires of the same size, which means they truly have 4 x 4 traction. They also have a low center of gravity, with the weight distributed at the height of the wheels.

The “ACTIO” system allows them to work with 15 degrees of horizontal articulation between the front and rear axles, which means that all wheels remain on the ground, even on rough terrain. Additionally, they have front and rear locking.

With a reinforced structure, despite being compact, the 5800 Series model has an average weight of 2200 kg. And, even with ballast, it maintains the characteristic of less weight in the back and more weight in the front, supporting up to 3,5 tons of ballast, with implements, due to its rear robustness, allowing the operator to adapt the ballasts to their work profile.

“When the operator, for example, places a sprayer or a trailer, the entire platform is on the ground. It is a great tool for maintaining work, usually in uphill or mountainous places. All this without compacting the soil, but making all work in the field easier”, explains Everton.

Technicians also highlight that while a conventional agricultural tractor operates, at the limit, at 12 degrees of inclination, tractors of this model can be used in places with up to 25 degrees of inclination and offer total safety.
