Anpii Bio advocates regulatory framework that promotes innovation in the bioinputs industry
Discussions on bills aim to meet the needs of the sector and promote the responsible use of bio-inputs
Starting today (1/10), farmers in Goiás will be able to register their rural properties entirely online, through the Agricultural Defense System (Sidago). The measure is being implemented by the Goiás Agricultural Defense Agency (Agrodefesa) and will allow the insertion of mandatory documents through Sidago itself, without the need to travel to a Regional or Local Unit of the Agency. The objective is to assist, expand and facilitate the registration of rural properties in Goiás, in addition to allowing agility in the process for producers.
The president of Agrodefesa, José Ricardo Caixeta Ramos, highlights that self-registration in Sidago is another step taken by the Government of Goiás, through the Agency, to modernize its processes and provide time savings for farmers in Goiás.
“There will be several benefits, as the System allows the entire process to be carried out digitally, without having to go to an Agrodefesa unit. In addition, we will certainly see an increase in the number of registrations in the System, which is a gain for the sector, because from the moment the Agency has knowledge of the productive property, this enables better planning of actions, activities and programs that can ensure agricultural health in the State and, consequently, the quality of the food produced in Goiás,” he emphasizes.
The self-registration was developed by Agrodefesa's Technology Management, based on the identification of demands from the rural production sector. “Currently, producers register in person, taking the necessary documentation to the Agrodefesa unit closest to their property. With the new functionality, the documents will be attached by the producer himself in Sidago, during the digital registration. After this process, they will be submitted for analysis by a server in the area. If approved, the registration will be released together with the Sidago password and sent to the farmer”, explains Agrodefesa's Technology Manager, Carlos Howes.
Rural producers who have an active State Registration with the State Secretariat for the Economy and who have not yet been registered with Sidago must access the official website (sidago.agrodefesa.go.gov.br/) to complete the digital procedure. On the home screen, select the option “Register your property”, then choose the type of user, identify yourself with personal data and provide the State Registration number of the property, in addition to filling out the registration form.
It will then be possible to attach the mandatory documents for analysis, complete the process and wait for approval by a server from the property's municipality or the responsible veterinary care unit. “Approval occurs in the same way as it does today, through a server from the Agency, who will have access to the information for evaluation and validation,” explains Carlos.
A self-registration manual for Sidago was prepared by Agrodefesa, with guidelines, and is available on the Government of Goiás website (www.goias.gov.br/agrodefesa).
The head of Agrodefesa, José Ricardo Caixeta Ramos, adds that it is important to emphasize that the registration of rural properties with Agrodefesa is a mandatory measure in the State and it is through this that the producer will also be able to carry out other actions, such as the registration of soybean crops.
Agrodefesa also warns soybean producers in Goiás that they are required to register their crops. According to Normative Instruction No. 06/2024, registration must be done for each new harvest, electronically, in the Goiás Agricultural Defense System (Sidago). The maximum deadline for registration is 15 days after the end of the soybean sowing calendar – which in this harvest, ends on January 02, 2025.
Furthermore, regular registration of rural property with Sidago allows farmers to issue an Animal Transit Guide (GTA), an official document for animal transport in Brazil that contains essential information on traceability.
