The Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Carlos Fávaro, participated in the opening of the event "China-Brazil Dialogue on Sustainable Development: local governments, think tanks and companies in action" this Monday (27) in Beijing. To Chinese and Brazilian businesspeople and government agents, the minister highlighted the potential for the sustainable development of Brazil's agribusiness which, starting with the next Safra Plan, will have an even greater incentive for the recovery of pastures in planting areas, which makes it possible to double the production area in the country.
"Brazil can and must intensify its food production. Brazil can and must intensify its trade relations with China. And we can do all this in a sustainable way, increasing production, both in agriculture and livestock, without deforesting a tree ", he highlighted.
Organized by the Brazilian Center for International Relations (CEBRI) in partnership with the Center for China Globalization (CCG) and with support from the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), the meeting seeks to bring together local governments, think tanks and companies from both countries to transition to a low-carbon economy.
