PR 2025/26 Harvest: Soybean planting begins in regions of the State
Bulletin highlights uneven sowing pace due to lack of rain and heterogeneity in wheat yields
Ibama agents identified irregularities in pesticide storage and packaging disposal during an operation conducted between September 8th and 12th in Rio Grande do Norte. The inspection took place at irrigated fruit farms, a sector that occupies 1.804 hectares in the state and is the leading exporter of melons in Brazil.
Five companies were inspected. Agents found deficiencies in all of them, including the storage of 744 liters of expired pesticides. They also found packaging discarded in the open air, without the triple washing required by ABNT NBR 13.968.
The teams also identified projects without environmental licensing and with outstanding issues in the Federal Technical Registry. These violations violate the Environmental Crimes Law (Law No. 9.605/1998) and the new Law No. 14.785/2023, which regulates the management of pesticides and packaging.
Ibama imposed more than R$135 in fines and embargoed 183 hectares due to lack of licensing and registration errors.
