The Fertilizer Purchasing Power Index (IPCF) ended January at 1,2, down approximately 9% compared to the previous month.

In January, agricultural commodities rose by an average of 1,5%, with gains driven by corn (+2%), cotton (+2,5%), and sugar and ethanol (+3,5%). Even with a nearly 2% drop in soybeans, the overall price range remained positive.

Regarding fertilizer prices, there was an average increase of about 5% for the month. The harvest in Brazil is progressing and has already reached almost 10% of the harvested area. The exchange rate is another relevant factor that contributed to the result, considering that in January the dollar fell by about 2%, reflecting the maintenance of the Selic rate at high levels in Brazil.
