Inmet: weather forecast until Monday (3)

The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) indicates that the month of August should begin with stable weather and low relative humidity in several states in the Central-West, Southeast, North and Northeast regions. In the South, the approach of a cold front from the Atlantic Ocean, and the action of a low-pressure center over Paraguay, favors the return of instability between Saturday (8/1) and Monday (8/3), with forecasts of rain, thunderstorms, wind gusts and the possibility of hail, mainly in Rio Grande do Sul. 

In the Southeast, the predominance of dry weather maintains favorable conditions for frost formation in the mountainous areas of southern Minas Gerais during the early morning hours. In northern Espírito Santo and southern Bahia, the likelihood of rain increases starting on Sunday.

Northern Region

On Saturday (August 1st), rain and isolated thunderstorms are forecast for western Rondônia, southwestern Amazonas, and Acre. For these areas, there is a yellow warning indicating potential danger of heavy rainfall. There is also a possibility of isolated rain along the coast and in northwestern Pará, Amapá, Roraima, the rest of Rondônia, and much of Amazonas. In other areas of the Northern Region, the weather remains stable, with predominantly clear skies in Tocantins and southeastern Pará.

On Sunday (March 2nd), unstable conditions will persist over Rondônia and the central-west of Amazonas, favoring the occurrence of rain and isolated thunderstorms. There is also a possibility of isolated rain along the coastal strip of Pará and in Roraima. In other areas of the Northern Region, the weather will remain stable, with mostly clear skies in Tocantins and much of Pará.

For Saturday and Sunday, there is an orange warning for dangerously low relative humidity in Tocantins and southeastern Pará, where levels could fall below 20% during the afternoon.

On Monday (August 3rd), rainfall will be more concentrated between Roraima and northern Amazonas, as well as the coast of Pará and Amapá, with the possibility of isolated thunderstorms in these areas. The weather will remain stable, without rain, in Rondônia, Tocantins, south-central Pará, and parts of Acre and Amazonas.

Regarding temperatures, among the capital cities, the lowest predicted temperature is 19°C in Palmas (TO), while the highest could reach 35°C in Manaus (AM).

North East Region

On Saturday (August 1st) and Sunday (August 2nd), stable weather will prevail across much of the Northeast Region, with the possibility of isolated showers only along the coast. There is an orange warning for low relative humidity in western Bahia, including areas near Barreiras and Luís Eduardo Magalhães, in southern Piauí, in regions such as Corrente and Bom Jesus, and in southern Maranhão, in the Balsas region. On Sunday, the area under an orange warning for low relative humidity will also include the municipalities of Picos, São Raimundo Nonato, and São João do Piauí, in Piauí. There is also a yellow warning for potentially dangerous low relative humidity in south-central Ceará, in the western parts of the states of Rio Grande do Norte, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Sergipe, and Alagoas, as well as much of Bahia. For Saturday, there is also a yellow warning for potentially dangerous strong winds across much of the Northeast Region, with gusts between 40 and 60 km/h.

On Monday (August 3rd), increased cloud cover is expected along the coast of Bahia, where rainfall may be more significant. There is also a possibility of isolated rain along the coast of other states in the Northeast Region, with the exception of Ceará, where the weather remains stable. In the interior of the Region, the condition of low relative humidity persists.

Regarding temperatures, among the capital cities, the lowest predicted temperatures are 21°C in Maceió (AL) and Recife (PE), while the maximum could reach 36°C in Teresina (PI).

Midwest region

On Saturday (August 1st), areas of instability will move from Paraguay and southern Brazil, favoring the occurrence of rain and isolated thunderstorms in western and southern Mato Grosso do Sul. There is also a possibility of isolated rain in western and northwestern Mato Grosso. There is a yellow warning of potential danger for storms covering areas from southwestern Mato Grosso, through western Mato Grosso do Sul, to the border of Mato Grosso do Sul with Paraná. In other areas of the Central-West Region, mainly in Goiás and the Federal District, the weather remains stable.

On Sunday (August 2nd), there is still a chance of rain and isolated thunderstorms in western Mato Grosso and a possibility of isolated rain in southern Mato Grosso do Sul. In other areas of the region, the weather remains stable. There is an orange warning of danger for low relative humidity during the afternoons of Saturday and Sunday in areas of Goiás, including municipalities such as Goiânia, Rio Verde and Jataí; in Mato Grosso do Sul, including Campo Grande and areas of the north-central part of the state, such as Corumbá and Sonora; as well as throughout southern and eastern Mato Grosso, including Cuiabá and Rondonópolis. In the Federal District, there is a yellow warning of potential danger for low relative humidity during the afternoons of Saturday and Sunday.

On Monday (August 3rd), the weather remains stable across most of the Central-West Region. Rainfall will be concentrated mainly in the southwest and south of Mato Grosso do Sul, where there is a possibility of isolated showers. In other areas, conditions of low relative humidity will prevail.

Regarding temperatures, among the capital cities, the predicted minimum is 13°C in Brasília (DF), while the maximum could reach 37°C in Cuiabá (MT).

Southeast

On Saturday (August 1st), the weather remains stable across most of the Southeast Region. Cloud cover increases only in northeastern Minas Gerais and northern Espírito Santo. The day begins with the possibility of frost in the mountains of southern Minas Gerais, where the minimum temperature may drop below 4°C at dawn. During the day, however, temperatures rise and relative humidity decreases.

Also on Saturday, there is a yellow warning for potential danger due to low relative humidity in northern, western, and southern Minas Gerais, as well as a large part of the interior of the state of São Paulo. There is also a yellow warning for potential danger due to strong winds in the far north of Minas Gerais.

On Sunday (August 2nd), there is a chance of isolated showers in eastern and northeastern Espírito Santo. Cloud cover will also increase in southwestern São Paulo due to approaching areas of instability. The day will dawn again with the possibility of frost in the mountains of Minas Gerais and on the border with São Paulo, especially in the Maria da Fé and Campos do Jordão region. In other areas, the weather will remain stable, with higher temperatures and low relative humidity. It is also worth noting that, between the northern coast of Rio de Janeiro and the southern coast of Espírito Santo, there is a yellow warning of potential danger for coastal winds between Saturday and Sunday.

On Monday (August 3rd), areas of instability in eastern Espírito Santo will intensify, maintaining the possibility of isolated showers in the region. Cloud cover will also increase in eastern and northern Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro, and the coastal strip of São Paulo. There is again a possibility of frost formation between southern Minas Gerais and the border with São Paulo during the early morning hours. In other areas, dry weather will prevail.

Regarding temperatures, nights will be cold in Minas Gerais. Among the capital cities, the lowest predicted temperature is 10°C in Belo Horizonte (MG), while the highest could reach 30°C in Rio de Janeiro (RJ).

South

On Saturday (August 1st), areas of instability will move over the Southern Region, causing heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and the possibility of hail, mainly in Rio Grande do Sul. Rain with thunderstorms is also expected in western Paraná and Santa Catarina.

There is an orange warning for dangerous storms in western and southern Rio Grande do Sul, between the municipalities of Uruguaiana, Santana do Livramento, Bagé, and Santa Vitória do Palmar. There is also an orange warning for dangerous gales throughout the state of Rio Grande do Sul and an orange warning for dangerous coastal winds along the entire coast of Rio Grande do Sul and the coast of Santa Catarina, between the border with Rio Grande do Sul and the Florianópolis region.

In addition, there is a yellow warning for potential danger of storms in western Paraná, western Santa Catarina, and the Serra Catarinense region. There is also a yellow warning for potential danger of strong winds in much of the states of Paraná and Santa Catarina.

On Sunday (August 2nd), areas of instability will continue over the Southern Region, with the possibility of rain and thunderstorms between western and southwestern Paraná, much of Santa Catarina, and northern Rio Grande do Sul. In the far north of Paraná and the far south of Rio Grande do Sul, the weather will remain stable, without rain.

There is a yellow warning of potential danger for coastal winds along the coastline between northern Rio Grande do Sul and the Florianópolis region in Santa Catarina.

On Monday (August 3rd), areas of instability return to Rio Grande do Sul, with the possibility of rain and thunderstorms, mainly in the south-central part of the state. There is also a possibility of isolated showers in areas of Santa Catarina, especially in regions near the borders with Rio Grande do Sul and Argentina, as well as the far west of Paraná. In other areas of the region, the weather remains stable.

Regarding temperatures, the predicted low is 9°C in Curitiba (PR) on Saturday, while the high could reach 27°C in Porto Alegre (RS). On Sunday and Monday, temperatures will remain mild in the Southern Region, with warmer temperatures only in Paraná, where the high could reach 25°C in Curitiba (PR).
