Inmet: weather forecast for Tuesday (7) and Wednesday (8)

Between Tuesday (July 7th) and Wednesday (July 8th), dry weather will prevail in most of Brazil. According to the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet), rain will be more concentrated in the far north of the North Region and along the coastal strip of the Northeast, as well as occurring in isolated areas of the Southeast and the east of the South Region. In the Central-West, the weather will remain stable, with sunshine and few clouds throughout the period.

The main highlights are frost warnings in the Southern Region, low air humidity in areas of the Central-West, interior of the Northeast, Tocantins, southern Pará, extreme northwest of Minas Gerais and western Paraná, in addition to the drop in temperatures in southern Mato Grosso do Sul after the passage of a cold front. The highest temperatures in the country remain concentrated between the North, Northeast and northern Central-West, with highs between 34°C and 36°C.

Northern Region

Between Tuesday and Wednesday, the weather will remain hot and humid, with localized showers, mainly from the afternoon onwards, in the far north of the Northern Region. Of particular note is the warning of heavy rains on Tuesday, which should cover the northern Amazon and the state of Roraima. Rainfall on both days is expected to affect the northern part of the states of Amazonas and Pará, as well as Roraima and Amapá. Minimum temperatures, around 18°C, continue to be recorded in areas of Rondônia, Acre, and southern Tocantins. The areas south of Pará and in Tocantins, in addition to having the highest maximum temperatures in the region, around 34°C and 36°C, also register the lowest relative humidity, below 30%.

North East Region

Between Tuesday and Wednesday, the chance of rain, albeit localized, is limited to coastal areas of the Northeast Region. The Recôncavo Baiano region is particularly noteworthy, with the highest rainfall totals expected on Tuesday. On Wednesday, precipitation levels are expected to decrease in the Recôncavo Baiano, however, isolated showers should persist along the northern coast of the region. In the interior of the Northeast, the weather will remain hot and dry, with minimum relative humidity expected to remain between 20% and 30%, especially in areas of the Sertão region. The states most affected by the low humidity are Maranhão, Piauí, southern Ceará, western Pernambuco, and western Bahia. Minimum temperatures should range between 10°C and 12°C, while maximum temperatures should be between 34°C and 36°C.

Midwest region

Between Tuesday and Wednesday, stable weather will continue with no rain forecast. Maximum temperatures will remain high in areas of northern Mato Grosso and northwestern Goiás, with values ​​between 34°C and 36°C. The period will be marked by predominantly sunny skies with few clouds, and the highlight will be the low relative humidity. Values ​​may vary between 20% and 30% in the afternoon, especially in the north-central part of Mato Grosso and in areas of Goiás. After the passage of a cold front, minimum temperatures should decline in southern Mato Grosso do Sul, with values ​​between 6°C and 10°C, mainly in the early hours of Wednesday.

Southeast

On Tuesday, there are no weather warnings in effect for the Southeast Region. On Wednesday, there is a low humidity warning for the extreme northwest of Minas Gerais, valid for the afternoon period, between 12 pm and 18 pm. Throughout both days, the weather will be mostly dry in most of the region. On Tuesday, there is a possibility of isolated rain in the south and east of São Paulo, south of Minas Gerais, and south-central Rio de Janeiro during the morning and afternoon. On Wednesday, the rain will be concentrated in the eastern part of São Paulo and in the states of Rio de Janeiro and Espírito Santo, while Minas Gerais will remain with stable weather and only variations in cloud cover. Minimum temperatures will vary between 10°C and 12°C in southern Minas Gerais. The state of São Paulo will also experience a drop in minimum temperatures, with much of its territory forecast to have minimums between 14°C and 16°C. Regarding maximum temperatures, these should vary around 30°C in the northwestern portion of Minas Gerais during this period.

South

In the Southern Region, frost warnings remain in effect for both days. On Tuesday, the phenomenon will affect practically all of Rio Grande do Sul, with the exception only of the coastal strip. On Wednesday, the warning extends to almost the entire region, except for the far north of Paraná, the far south of Rio Grande do Sul, and the coastal strip of the three states. Regarding weather conditions, Tuesday begins with the possibility of isolated rain in eastern Paraná and northeastern Santa Catarina, due to a frontal system moving through the region during the early morning. Conversely, on Wednesday, there is a low humidity warning for western Paraná, valid for the afternoon period, between 12 pm and 18 pm. From this rainier period onwards, dry weather will prevail. On Wednesday, stability continues, with clear skies in most of the region, and the possibility of isolated rain remains only in the far east of Paraná and on the northern coast of Santa Catarina. Minimum temperatures will be around -3°C in the Serra Gaúcha and Serra Catarinense regions on Tuesday and should be close to 0°C on Wednesday, when a slight increase in minimum temperatures is expected. As for maximum temperatures, they should vary between 22°C and 24°C in the far north of Paraná. Among the capital cities, the highest temperatures should be recorded in Curitiba, with thermometers between 19°C and 20°C.
