The National Institute of Meteorology indicates that, this Thursday (June 25th) and Friday (June 26th), the rain should be concentrated between the North, part of the Central-West and Southeast of the country. In the Northeast, precipitation remains restricted mainly to the coast, while the South maintains stable weather, frosts and low temperatures under the influence of a polar air mass.
On Thursday, the forecast indicates unstable weather patterns over parts of the Northern Region, favoring the occurrence of showers, mainly in the states of Amazonas, Roraima, Amapá, and Acre. In Pará, the rain will be concentrated in the west of the state, in the Santarém region, as well as in the Belém region and the coast. The exceptions are Tocantins and the southeastern portion of Pará, where the forecast is for few clouds, with predominantly sunny skies and no rain.
On Friday, the rain will be concentrated mainly in the central and northern regions of Amazonas, including the capital Manaus, part of western Pará, and Belém. This rain is expected to come in the form of showers. In other areas of the region, cloud cover will prevail.
Minimum temperatures are expected in Acre and Rondônia, particularly in the capital Rio Branco (AC) with a predicted low of 16°C. In the rest of the region, minimum temperatures should range between 18°C and 25°C. The highest maximum temperatures are expected in Tocantins, potentially reaching 35°C. On Thursday, minimum temperatures should be around 16°C in Vilhena (RO), while maximum temperatures will be around 35°C in Redenção (TO).
Between Thursday and Friday, rainfall is expected to be concentrated mainly along the coastal strip, particularly in São Luís (MA) and the capital cities of João Pessoa, Recife, and Maceió, where 50mm/day is expected. On Thursday, the entire eastern coast of the Northeast region will experience isolated showers. In the interior of the region, no rain is expected, with predominantly stable weather throughout the period.
The lowest temperatures in the region are expected in western Bahia, with lows around 12°C. The highest highs are forecast for the interior of Piauí, where thermometers could reach 35°C.
This Thursday, the frontal system that has been affecting the Central-West region of Brazil will become stationary, potentially causing instability in the area. However, the circulation at medium and upper levels of the atmosphere is the main factor contributing to favorable conditions for rainfall. This system will favor the occurrence of showers in northern Mato Grosso do Sul and southern Mato Grosso and Goiás states. This circulation at medium and upper levels of the atmosphere will favor an increase in cloud cover throughout the day.
On Friday, weather conditions for the region are expected to be stable.
The minimum temperature for the region should be around 5°C in southern Mato Grosso do Sul. Maximum temperatures could reach 33°C in northern Mato Grosso. Notably, in the Federal District, minimum temperatures could register values below 16°C.
On Thursday, circulation in the middle and upper levels of the atmosphere is the main factor contributing to favorable conditions for rainfall. The frontal system is also expected to cause instability, mainly in São Paulo and its metropolitan area, northern São Paulo, Vale do Paraíba and the northern coast, as well as southern Minas Gerais, the Costa Verde region of Rio de Janeiro, and the capital of Rio de Janeiro and its metropolitan area.
On Friday, this instability is expected to continue. This system will bring heavy rain to the inland regions of São Paulo, the Ribeira Valley, and the northern coast of São Paulo.
Minimum temperatures are expected to be around 9°C in Presidente Prudente (SP). Maximum temperatures will reach values around 30°C in Januária, Northern Minas Gerais.
Both on Thursday and Friday, the southern region of Brazil will experience predominantly stable weather throughout the day, with no rain forecast. Frost is expected at the start of both days.
The polar air mass is keeping temperatures low. The minimum temperature in the region should remain around -3°C, especially in General Carneiro (PR). However, maximum temperatures should gradually rise, with the maximum reaching 21°C on Friday in Umuarama, northwest of Paraná.
