The weather forecast from the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) for this Friday (June 26) and Saturday (June 27) indicates that rains should move across the country, especially along the Northeast coast, Amapá, and areas of the Central-West and Southeast regions. In the South, dry weather will prevail until Friday, but instability will return to Paraná on Saturday.

While a mass of polar air keeps the Southern Region cold, temperatures above 30°C continue to be recorded in states in the North, Northeast, and Midwest.

Northern Region

On Friday, the forecast indicates unstable weather patterns over parts of the Northern Region, favoring the occurrence of showers, mainly in north-central Amazonas, including Manaus, and in Roraima. In Pará, the rain should be concentrated in the west of the state, in the Santarém region, as well as in the Belém region and along the coast. The exceptions are Tocantins, Rondônia, and Acre, where no significant rainfall is expected.

On Saturday, heavy rain is expected, which may be accompanied by isolated thunderstorms, mainly in the state of Amapá. In other areas of the region, cloud cover will prevail.

Minimum temperatures are expected to be around 19°C on Friday. The highest maximum temperatures in the region are forecast for Tocantins, potentially reaching 34°C in Araguaína-TO. On Saturday, minimum temperatures are expected to be around 16°C in Rio Branco (AC), while maximum temperatures could reach approximately 33°C in Araguaína (TO).

North East Region

On Friday and Saturday, the forecast indicates concentrated rainfall, mainly along the coastal strip of the Northeast Region, especially in the states of the east coast — Rio Grande do Norte, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Alagoas and Sergipe — where accumulations of up to 50 mm/day are expected. Also on Saturday, isolated showers are forecast in much of the interior of the region.

On both Friday and Saturday, minimum temperatures are expected to be around 19°C, especially in Vitória da Conquista (BA). Maximum temperatures could reach around 34°C in the interior of Maranhão.

Midwest region

This Friday, a stationary frontal system will affect regions of central-western Brazil. This phenomenon brings instability to the region and favors the occurrence of showers in areas of Mato Grosso do Sul, Mato Grosso, and Goiás, in addition to contributing to increased cloud cover throughout the day. In other areas, the weather should remain stable.

On Saturday, atmospheric circulation at medium and high levels will continue to influence weather conditions, favoring the occurrence of instability, mainly in the southern portion of Mato Grosso do Sul.

Minimum temperatures are expected to range between 9°C and 14°C in southern Mato Grosso do Sul. Maximum temperatures could reach values close to 33°C in the region.

Southeast

On Friday, atmospheric circulation at medium and high levels will continue to be the main factor responsible for conditions favorable to rainfall, especially in the state of São Paulo. In addition, the stationary frontal system should still favor unstable conditions, mainly in Rio de Janeiro and southern Minas Gerais.

Due to the frontal system moving away towards the ocean on Saturday, the trend is for decreased instability over the region. Even so, this system will continue to favor the occurrence of more localized and isolated rain showers.

Minimum temperatures on Saturday are expected to be around 11°C in western São Paulo and 12°C in southern Minas Gerais. Maximum temperatures could reach values close to 30°C in Januária, in northern Minas Gerais.

South

On Friday, the Southern Region of Brazil will remain under predominantly stable weather throughout the day, with no rain forecast. However, on Saturday, atmospheric circulation at mid-levels will favor the formation of instabilities over Paraná. Therefore, rain is expected throughout the state, possibly in the form of locally intense showers, accompanied by thunderstorms and occasional hail.

The polar air mass will continue to keep temperatures low in the region. Minimum temperatures are expected to be around -1°C, especially in areas of the Santa Catarina mountains. On the other hand, maximum temperatures will gradually increase throughout the period, possibly reaching around 21°C on Friday in Umuarama, in northwestern Paraná, and 23°C in northern and northwestern Paraná.
