The forecast from the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) indicates heavy rain and episodes of severe weather in different regions of the country between April 6th and 13th, with the highest accumulations in the North, Northeast, and South. While areas of Amazonas may register more than 150 mm during the week, the South region should face storms associated with the formation of an extratropical cyclone in the first days of the period, increasing the risk of extreme events.

In the Northern Region, the highest rainfall totals are expected in Amazonas, eastern Pará, and the border with Tocantins and Maranhão, exceeding 100 mm in 7 days, and potentially reaching more than 150 mm in isolated areas of Amazonas. It is noteworthy that the rains tend to be more persistent in Amazonas and Pará.

In the Northeast region, the highest rainfall totals are expected in the north-central area, affecting Maranhão, Piauí, Ceará, Rio Grande do Norte, Paraíba, and the coast of Pernambuco, with amounts around 80 mm (over 7 days), potentially reaching 150 mm in isolated areas. In other areas, the scenario will be dry and stable, with the possibility of sporadic rainfall and low accumulations along the eastern coast.

In the Central-West region, rainfall tends to concentrate in northern Mato Grosso, potentially reaching northwestern Goiás, with accumulations exceeding 60 mm. In the south-central part of the region, the scenario will be drier and more stable, with the possibility of occasional rain systems forming during the week, distributed irregularly, and with localized accumulations below 20 mm.

In the Southeast Region, the highlight will be from the 08th to the 10th, due to the passage of a cold front through the region, bringing persistent rains with accumulations above 50 mm, possibly exceeding 100 mm in some areas, between the 09th and 10th in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Vale do Paraíba, southern Minas Gerais, Zona da Mata region of Minas Gerais, Vale do Rio Doce and south-central Espírito Santo. The western portion of Minas Gerais will have a drier scenario, without rain.

In the Southern Region, the formation of an extratropical cyclone and the organization of a cold front will lead to severe weather and adverse weather phenomena (storms, heavy rain, gusts, lightning, and hail) from April 6th to 8th in all southern states, with the highest rainfall accumulations in western Rio Grande do Sul, exceeding 100 mm in 24 hours between the 6th and 7th, and 200 mm over 7 days. Between the 7th and 8th, the instabilities will spread to the other southern states, with accumulations exceeding 50 mm. From the 8th to the 11th, with the transient system moving away, the atmosphere will become stable and rain-free. From the 11th onwards, a new low-pressure system will organize instabilities in the region.
